Rock Band Camp

August 4-8, 2025 9:00am-5:00pm

It's time to rock and roll! Students ages 12 and older will learn to play in a band and perform live music on drums, electric guitar, bass guitar, or pop/rock vocals. Must have at least 6 months experience in instrument of choice. What's offered at rock band camp? 

  • Music theory: Learn the fundamentals of music theory

  • Playing skills: Improve your technique on your instrument

  • Rehearsals: Practice with other band members

  • Performances: Perform on stage for an audience

  • Recording: Record your music in a studio

  • One-on-one lessons: Work with professional musicians

  • Jam sessions: Play with other musicians

Make Music Camp

August 11-15, 2025 1:00-4:00pm

Spend a week making and creating! In this weeklong, half-day music camp, kids ages 8–12 will be inspired by exhibitions at the Paul J. Schupf Art Center's two galleries - composing music based on one of the exhibits using traditional instruments or sound bites. Record and produce pieces of music by the end of the session.

Gallery exhibitions will include Bernard Langlais at the Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery and Sports Illustrators at the Ticonic Gallery.

All State Audition Prep & Chamber Music Camp

August 11-15, 2025 9:00am-12:00pm

•Daily masterclasses

Students will participate in masterclasses, working on their technical skills, stage presence, interpretation, and much more.

•All-State audition prep

Students will prepare for Maine All State's band, orchestra or chorus auditions

•Chamber Music

The final part of the morning will include playing in chamber music groups.
